Requirements
Looking to take the next step in your veterinary career within a genuinely supportive, privately owned practice? I’m partnering with a long-established small animal hospital in Fairfax, Virginia that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to their close-knit team. This is a thoughtfully run, community-focused practice that prides itself on high clinical standards, teamwork, and creating an environment where veterinarians can truly enjoy coming to work. The hospital operates from a modern, well-designed facility with a practical layout that supports efficient workflows. You’ll have access to full in-house diagnostics, a well-stocked on-site pharmacy, and dedicated surgical and treatment areas. The team places a strong emphasis on low-stress handling and has recently achieved Fear Free certification, reinforcing their commitment to patient wellbeing and client experience. One of the real standouts here is the support. You’ll be working alongside an experienced group of doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, and a large team of veterinary assistants, creating an excellent support ratio both in consults and surgery. Staff retention is high, the culture is low-drama and collaborative, and mentorship is available for those who want to continue developing their skills and confidence. This role would suit a veterinarian looking for stability, growth, and a hospital they can genuinely call home. Key Highlights: • Well-equipped, modern small animal hospital • Privately owned with strong clinical autonomy • Excellent support ratio with experienced technicians and assistants • Fear Free Certified practice • Long-tenured, collaborative team with low turnover • Competitive salary with production-based bonuses • Comprehensive benefits package with strong wellness support About You: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in Virginia • Experience in a clinical small animal setting (all experience levels considered) • Comfortable with general medicine, surgery, and dentistry • Team-oriented and motivated to grow within a supportive environment Benefits: • Competitive base salary plus production bonuses • Health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage • Generous PTO allowance (with increases for long tenure) • Dedicated CE days with allowance • Licenses, dues, and professional fees covered
