Job Description

We are working on behalf of an AAHA accredited small animal hospital in Fairfax, VA that has been caring for pets in the same community for more than 40 years and is now looking to grow its three doctor team. This is a practice built on long term relationships, with clients who have been coming back for decades and staff who have stayed for years, so you are joining a settled team rather than a revolving door. The hospital is properly equipped for the medicine you want to practice, with digital radiography, dental radiography, portable ultrasound, and in house analyzers, which means most of your diagnostics happen in the building and you get answers the same day. The caseload is cats and dogs, with a strong preventive and wellness focus alongside dentistry and routine surgery. The schedule is a genuine part of the appeal here. The hospital runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with a half day on Saturday and closed on Sundays, so this is a realistic option if you have been looking for good general practice without late nights or Sunday cover. Whether you are an experienced DVM or still building confidence in your first few years, you will have the backing of a small, collaborative team and the room to practice the standard of medicine you were trained to deliver. Key Highlights • AAHA accredited small animal hospital serving the Fairfax community for over 40 years • Digital radiography, dental radiography, portable ultrasound, and in house analyzers • Small, long tenured team, joining as the fourth doctor in a growing practice • No Sunday hours and only a half day on Saturday • Signing bonus confirmed for this position • Cats and dogs only, with a strong preventive and wellness focus • Salary negotiable on experience, with additional variable pay potential • 401k with company match and a comprehensive benefits package About You • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited university • Licensure in good standing in Virginia, or the ability to obtain it • Committed to high standards of medicine and the veterinary code of ethics • Enjoys teaching and working closely alongside a small team • Builds client trust through clear, honest communication Benefits: • Annual salary of $130,000 to $150,000, dependent on experience • Signing bonus • 401k retirement savings plan with company match • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus fertility benefits and gender affirmation services • Paid vacation, sick leave, and parental leave • Continuing education allowance with paid CE days • Access to an internal CE program and clinical studies opportunities • Mental health and financial wellbeing resources
