Overview
Requirements
Open to both new graduates and experienced DVMs. You'll practice general medicine, oral and soft tissue surgery, with a referral center 30 minutes away and specialty centers 30 minutes to an hour out for anything beyond scope so you're never carrying a case alone. Compensation is $100,000–$160,000 DOE plus production bonus, with health insurance, retirement match, PTO, CE allowance, and license/DEA/dues covered. Our multicultural team has been with the practice anywhere from 2 to 30 years and we're well established in the Merritt Island community. You'd be joining people who know the practice, know each other, and know how to support a new doctor coming in. Day-to-day The clinic day starts at 7 AM with surgical drop-offs and the first appointments. Surgery days run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; Wednesdays and Saturdays are appointment-only. Appointments are 20 minutes each, scheduled 7–11 AM and 2–4 PM, with an 11 AM–1 PM block set aside for recordkeeping (AI-assisted) and client communication. Typical caseload is a mix of wellness exams and sick pet visits. The role is 20–30 hours a week across 3 days, with Saturdays on a rotating basis (appointments 7–10 AM). No emergency or on-call coverage. Support staff handle dental cleanings, radiographs, venipuncture, and client charges, so your time in the exam and surgery room stays focused on diagnosis, treatment, and hands-on medicine.
