Associate Veterinarian - San Antonio, Texas Competitive Compensation + Profit Sharing | 6:1 Support | FT or PT | New Grads Welcome | Medical Autonomy The Opportunity A growing small animal practice in San Antonio is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join a highly supported, collaborative team. Both full-time and part-time veterinarians are being considered, and the practice is open to experienced DVMs as well as new graduates looking for strong support as they begin their careers. What makes this opportunity different is the amount of support surrounding the doctors. The hospital is intentionally structured so veterinarians can focus on practicing medicine, making clinical decisions, and building relationships with clients rather than spending their day on tasks that can be appropriately delegated. Compensation Built Around You Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, the practice is willing to customize compensation based on the veterinarian’s experience, schedule, and priorities. The package can include: • Competitive salary • Signing bonus • Quarterly profit-sharing bonus • Guaranteed first-year income • Moving assistance • Fully paid health benefits • Matching 401(k) Profit Sharing The hospital has a team-based quarterly profit-sharing program designed to allow employees to participate financially in the success of the practice. A meaningful portion of hospital profit is distributed back to the team, creating additional earning potential while encouraging collaboration across the hospital. Exceptional 6:1 Support One of the biggest differentiators of this opportunity is the targeted 6:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. The clinical team is structured to take responsibility for appropriate tasks such as: • Medical record entry • Invoicing • Client education • Treatment administration This allows veterinarians to spend more of their time focused on diagnostics, treatment planning, procedures, client conversations, and practicing medicine. Doctors also have additional operational and administrative resources supporting the hospital behind the scenes. Medical Autonomy Veterinarians are given significant clinical autonomy and the ability to practice medicine based on their professional judgment. The goal is to combine the feel and medical independence of a smaller practice with the resources and infrastructure of a larger organization. Clinical Environment The hospital provides comprehensive small animal care with resources including: • Full in-house laboratory capabilities • Digital radiography • Ultrasound • Digital dental radiography • High-speed dentistry • Therapeutic laser • Dedicated surgical suite • Isolation capabilities • Separate dog and cat exam areas The practice also emphasizes preventative medicine and long-term client relationships. New Graduates Welcome This could be an especially interesting opportunity for a new graduate who wants to develop clinically without feeling like they’re being thrown into practice without adequate support. The high staff-to-doctor ratio, experienced team, medical autonomy, and continuing education resources provide an environment where an early-career veterinarian can continue developing confidence and skills. Experienced veterinarians can practice with greater independence while taking advantage of the same clinical support and resources. Schedule • Full-time or part-time opportunities • Flexible and transparent scheduling • Schedule can be discussed based on the veterinarian’s needs and desired hours • Generous PTO Professional Development • Required CE fully covered • Unlimited approved growth-focused CE • Tuition assistance • Ongoing opportunities to expand clinical skills and interests Benefits • Fully paid health benefits • Dental and vision plans • Generous PTO • Matching 401(k) • Continuing education coverage • Additional approved growth CE • Moving assistance • Employee veterinary-care discounts • Wellness benefits for personal pets • Short- and long-term disability • Life insurance • Accident and critical illness coverage Who We’re Looking For • DVM or VMD degree • Active Texas veterinary license or ability to obtain one • Experienced veterinarians and new graduates considered • Strong client communication skills • Collaborative and team-oriented • Interested in comprehensive small animal medicine • Values medical autonomy and strong clinical support • Full-time or part-time availability Why Consider This Opportunity A 6:1 support ratio can fundamentally change what a veterinarian’s day looks like. Instead of spending valuable doctor time entering records, preparing invoices, or handling tasks that can be delegated, you have a team designed to support you so you can focus on being the veterinarian. Combine that with medical autonomy, customizable compensation, quarterly profit sharing, fully paid health benefits, flexible FT/PT scheduling, and significant professional-development support, and this is a strong opportunity for both experienced DVMs and new graduates.
