Job Description

Associate Veterinarian - Cedar Park, TX Small Animal GP | New Grads Welcome | Base + Production | No Negative Accrual | Mentorship The Opportunity An established small animal practice in the Cedar Park area is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative clinical team. This opportunity could work equally well for an experienced veterinarian looking for a supportive GP environment or a newer DVM who wants meaningful mentorship while developing confidence and independence in practice. You'll have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients, care for patients throughout every stage of life, and practice comprehensive small animal medicine alongside an experienced veterinary support team. The Medicine The hospital provides comprehensive small animal general practice, including: • Preventive and wellness care • Sick-patient medicine • General surgery • Dentistry • Diagnostics • Ongoing medical management The practice emphasizes high-quality, compassionate medicine while maintaining accessibility for its client community. New Graduate Mentorship New graduates are welcome and have access to structured doctor mentorship and professional-development resources. The goal is to help newer veterinarians develop their clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and confidence while having experienced professionals and educational resources available when needed. Additional educational opportunities include clinical training, dental education, patient-safety resources, and continuing education. For an experienced veterinarian, these same resources provide opportunities to continue developing clinically and potentially grow into future leadership responsibilities. Compensation + Production The compensation structure combines a competitive base salary with additional production earning potential. The package includes: • Competitive base salary • Production-based compensation opportunities • No negative accrual • Comprehensive benefits • 401(k) with employer match • Continuing education resources • Student loan support resources No negative accrual is an important advantage, particularly for a newer veterinarian who is still developing speed and building production. Schedule • Full-time position • Weekday hospital hours • Saturday morning hospital hours The hospital closes at noon on Saturdays, which is worth mentioning. However, the source doesn't tell us how frequently an individual veterinarian works Saturdays, so I wouldn't advertise a specific rotation. Collaborative Environment You'll join a team that values collaboration, accountability, empathy, and strong client service. The practice is designed to give veterinarians the support and resources they need to focus on medicine while continuing to develop professionally. The hospital also serves an established and diverse client base, giving veterinarians exposure to the breadth of cases expected in a busy general practice environment. Who We're Looking For • DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree • Texas veterinary license or ability to obtain one • Active DEA license or eligibility • Experienced veterinarians and new graduates encouraged to apply • Interest in comprehensive small animal medicine • Strong communication and client relationship skills • Collaborative, team-oriented approach • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care Benefits & Professional Support Eligible full-time team members have access to: • Comprehensive health benefits • Health and life insurance • Short- and long-term disability • 401(k) with employer match • Continuing education resources • Doctor mentorship • Mental health resources • Paid parental leave • Childcare and elder-care support • Family-planning resources • Veterinary-service and pet-care discounts • Student loan support tools Why Consider This Opportunity This is a strong option for a veterinarian who wants comprehensive GP medicine without sacrificing support or continued development. New graduates can benefit from structured mentorship and clinical education as they transition into practice, while experienced veterinarians can join an established team and continue developing their clinical and leadership capabilities. The compensation structure also provides the stability of a base salary with additional production potential and no negative accrual.
