Job Description

Heights Hospital for Animals is looking for a knowledgeable technician with a passion for giving the very best care to all patients! Technicians must be able to adapt, learn protocols, procedures, effectively communicate with team members, work well in a team setting and possess the ability and knowledge to give our patients the very best in veterinary care. The ideal veterinary technician candidate not only has well developed technical skills and medical knowledge, but has a can-do attitude towards teamwork, client service, and able to work cohesively alongside the attending Veterinarian. We believe hiring people with diverse perspectives and ideas allows us to deliver to the highest quality of preventive care to both our patients and our clients. Responsibilities: Effectively collect and document accurate and current patient history. Safely and properly restrain patients for examinations, vaccinations, blood draws, and other medical procedures. Collect specimen samples for diagnostic testing (blood, urine, stool, etc.) Give medications, vaccinations, or treatments per DVM's treatment plan. Lab processing procedures. Taking X-Rays. Prepping and monitoring patients for/during surgical procedures. Dental: prep/x-ray/assess/scale/polish Educating clients on health basics, nutrition, vaccinations, preventions, and general clinic offerings. Observing hospitalized patients and providing nursing care. Filling prescriptions. Answering calls, triage, scheduling appointments, creating invoices/estimates, discharge patients. Following up on lab work/previous patient care. Provide the most competent and empathetic care as possible for our patients and clients. Be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
