Requirements
We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian for a privately-owned, full-service hospital in the Houston Heights area of Houston, TX! Independently owned and rooted in the local community for several years, this full-service small animal practice cares for a loyal base of canine and feline patients across wellness, sick visits, surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. As the caseload continues to grow, the team is adding a second full-time doctor to help carry that momentum forward. Doctors here work with digital full-body and digital dental X-ray, a newly installed IDEXX hematology and chemistry unit, an in-house microscope and centrifuge, and dedicated surgical and dental suites equipped for routine soft tissue procedures, spays, neuters, dentals, and extractions. A recently added ultrasound unit rounds out the diagnostic capabilities, with hands-on training available for anyone looking to expand into this area of practice. A practice manager and an on-site medical director whose main clinical focus are complex internal medicine cases lead the hospital day to day, backed by a support team of roughly 2.5 technicians and assistants per doctor. Fear-free handling guides how patients, clients, and staff are treated, and professional development is treated as a genuine priority rather than an afterthought. The role runs on a steady four-day schedule, with a half-day Saturday required every other week and surgeries typically wrapped up by early afternoon. There's no on-call rotation and no overnight emergency coverage to worry about.
