Good News!!! Henderson Animal Care Hospital is seeking a skilled and passionate veterinary technician to come on board!! The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients under the supervision of one of our talented veterinarians. The veterinary technician will work closely with the veterinary team to provide excellent medical care and customer service to our clients and their pets. We love to educate our clients and help our patients from beginning to end. Our technicians are empowered to do more than "restrain" patients. They are needed to: - Collect vital signs on every patient and assess the patient's status before a veterinarian examines the patient. - Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis. - Prepare patients for surgery, assist in surgical procedures, and monitor anesthesia. - Take and develop X-rays and other diagnostic imaging. - Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Educate pet owners about animal care, medication administration, and preventive care. - Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the veterinary team. - Pace IV and IO catheters in mammal and a variety of exotics, including reptile patients. - Licensed technicians will be used to their full licensed potential. - Treat hospitalized patients in a timely manner. Document all treatments and report on any patient discomfort or changes Requirements: - Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic is a positive, but not required. - Ability to lift and restrain animals of up to fifty pounds. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. -**Candidate MUST be able to multitask. This means do more than one thing at a time, do those things efficiently and completely, AND follow through with clients while providing the highest care to their patients.
