Job Description

Arlington Heights Animal Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team! Our kennel team is dedicated to the care and comfort of our patients while maintaining a clean and safe environment for pets, clients, and staff. In this role, you will focus on patient husbandry and care as well as general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital. You will provide meals and walks to boarding patients, administer medication, and monitor for any medical or behavioral concerns. You will ensure kennels, common spaces, and treatment areas are sanitized and well stocked with supplies. This can be a full or part-time position, with flexible scheduling options, and availability needed Monday-Friday, and rotating weekends. Benefits and Compensation ** Compensation: $12 per hour, for each hour worked* For Full-Time Employees: Health Package: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (with HSA options) Life Insurance and Disability Employee Assistance Program 401k (with company match starting Jan. 2027) Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Long-term professional growth Responsibilities : Provide attentive care to boarding dogs and cats Feed, walk, and monitor pets for health and behavior changes Clean kennels and hospital areas as needed Assist the front desk by answering incoming calls Check boarding clients in and out Minimum Qualifications & Skillset: 1+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background Punctual and reliable Desire for knowledge & growth in the veterinary field Willing to work holidays and weekends Excellent communication & customer service skills Why Work at Arlington Heights?
