Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT)  $20–$33/hr based on experience + shift differentials + weekend differentials + $2,500 sign-on bonus for experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians  Nashville Veterinary Specialists | Nashville, TN Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts per week Nashville Veterinary Specialists (NVS) in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Team. This Veterinary Technician role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys emergency medicine, advanced patient care, and working alongside a supportive team. You’ll provide hands-on care for emergency patients while developing your technical skills and working with experienced veterinary professionals in a newly renovated and expanded hospital. Schedule Full-Time Three consistent 12-hour shifts per week Emergency Team schedule Weekend differential available Responsibilities Provide nursing care for emergency patients while supporting veterinarians and the medical team Perform Veterinary Technician duties including triage, patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and monitoring Utilize technical skills including phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, anesthesia support, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging Assist with emergency procedures and critical patient care Perform patient restraint, medication administration, anesthesia monitoring, and nursing care Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates effectively with the medical team Educate clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations Support a positive, respectful, and collaborative Emergency team environment Continue developing technical skills while contributing to a learning-focused animal hospital Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in Emergency Medicine Current LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT credential required Strong understanding of veterinary medicine, including triage, disease processes, pharmacology, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, anesthesia, laboratory equipment, and procedures Advanced technical skills preferred, including central line placement, abdominocentesis, thoracentesis, feeding tube placement, and urinary catheter placement Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with clients and team members Ability to adapt to changing patient needs in a fast-paced Emergency environment Ability to safely handle and restrain patients of varying sizes, including large dogs Ability to lift and carry animals weighing 50 pounds or more and handle dogs weighing up to 150 pounds Ability to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, reach, and remain active throughout the workday Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
