In addition to wellness exams, grooming, boarding, pharmacy and medication refills, vaccines, nutrition and dental work, we also concentrate our practice on small animal and exotic medicine, with an emphasis on dermatology, gastroenterology, endocrine diseases, internal medicine, trauma, emergencies, and surgery. We also perform a full range of diagnostic tests, including ultrasound, digital x-ray, lab work and endoscopic evaluation. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise. As a Veterinarian Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, patients, and clients throughout the day. Job Description What You’ll Do In this veterinary role, your responsibilities may include: Safely restraining patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures Triaging incoming veterinary patients and helping the team prioritize care Collecting and processing laboratory samples Assisting with diagnostic imaging, including digital radiographs Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability Administering medications as directed by the veterinary team Obtaining medical histories and communicating treatment plans and instructions to clients Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with veterinary surgical procedures Supporting anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming veterinary environment Our hospital uses modern veterinary technology and diagnostic tools, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, in-house laboratory capabilities, and other diagnostic equipment. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians while gaining exposure to a wide range of cases and services. Qualifications We’re looking for: We’re looking for a compassionate and dependable Veterinarian Assistant who enjoys working with both people and animals. You’ll thrive here if you’re calm under pressure, communicate well, can multitask, and enjoy being part of a team.
