Job Description

A rare Veterinarian opportunity at a wonderful, privately-owned, mixed animal practice in beautiful Lobelville, TN, one hour from Nashville. This is a genuinely exciting chance to join a community-rooted, family-owned mixed animal clinic that opened in 2025 with a clear mission: taking exceptional care of animals and the people who raise them. As one of only few clinics in the area, the team is looking for a confident veterinarian who wants to be a meaningful part of that story and grow the clinic to it’s full potential. One thing that sets this role apart is its flexibility. You can choose to take on a fully mixed animal caseload or focus exclusively on small animal medicine depending on your preference and background. For those who embrace the mixed animal path, the large animal work is as varied as the rural landscape itself, covering farm and equine cases across a wide range of presentations that you simply would not encounter in a suburban general practice. A company vehicle is provided for farm calls. The practice runs four days a week with absolutely no weekend work, no after-hours requirements, and no on-call, giving you a work-life balance that is difficult to find in veterinary medicine. A sister large animal clinic and small animal-only clinic provide additional support when needed. The facility is well-equipped for its size, with in-house diagnostics including an IDEXX Catalyst, ProCyte One, INvue, and, digital radiography, small and large animal ultrasound, and a surgical laser. Routine surgeries including spays, neuters, soft tissue procedures, dentistry, and more are performed across two dedicated surgery tables, backed by an exceptional support staff ratio. The culture here is built around compassion, mentorship, and community. The two DVM owners are always available to support and are experienced mentors. For the right individual, there is a clear pathway to clinical leadership and there is a genuine opportunity for ownership, making this a rare opportunity to shape a practice from its earliest chapters. An on-site apartment is also available for veterinarians relocating to the area. Key Highlights (Min 7 bullet points): • DVM role at a family-owned, mixed animal clinic in Perry County, TN, one hour from Nashville • Flexible caseload structure: choose mixed animal (including farm and equine) or small animal only depending on your preference • Wide variety of cases reflective of the rural location, including presentations rarely seen in traditional general practice • Well-equipped facility with IDEXX Catalyst, digital radiography, small and large animal ultrasound, surgical-laser, and two surgery tables • No weekends, no after-hours, and no on-call! A true four-day work week • Exceptional support staff to veterinarian ratio • Mentorship available from two supportive DVM owners • Cross-collaboration with nearby clinics should you need extra support on cases • On-site apartment available for relocating candidates • Long-term pathway to clinical leadership and ownership for the right individual About You (Min 5 bullet points): • DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited institution • Hold or be eligible for a Tennessee Veterinary State License in good standing • Confident across routine small animal surgery, dentistry, and general wellness • Large animal or equine experience is a bonus but not essential for small animal focused candidates • Compassionate, community-minded, and committed to building lasting client relationships • A long-term thinker excited by the opportunity to grow with a practice and help shape its future Benefits (Min 5 bullet points): • Competitive base salary of $100,000 to $120,000 depending on experience • Emergency fees go directly to the veterinarian for any emergency work taken on • 3% retirement match • PTO allowance • Continuing education stipend of approximately $2,000 per year • Professional dues covered for two organizations annually • State license fees paid • Professional liability insurance reimbursement (PLIT) • Health insurance stipend provided • Pet care discounts available • Company vehicle provided for farm calls • On-site apartment available for veterinarians relocating to the area • Long-term pathway to leadership, co-ownership, and partnership • Much more
