Veterinary Receptionist (Client Care Representative) Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville | Knoxville, Tennessee Are you passionate about helping pets and the people who love them? At Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville, we're seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative who is dedicated to providing exceptional client service and wants to build a long-term career in veterinary medicine. As the first point of contact for pet owners during some of their most stressful moments, you'll play a vital role in creating a supportive, welcoming experience while helping our medical team deliver outstanding patient care. Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:  Welcome clients and patients with empathy, professionalism, and compassion   Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently   Answer questions and address client concerns promptly   Provide updates and facilitate communication between clients and veterinary staff   Deliver exceptional customer service during emergency and specialty visits   Process payments, invoices, and point-of-sale transactions accurately   Maintain financial records and documentation   Assist with appointment scheduling and specialty referrals   Prepare and maintain accurate medical records   Ensure confidentiality of client and patient information   Explain treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up recommendations   Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and ongoing treatment needs   Support clients through emotionally challenging situations with empathy and professionalism   Escalate concerns appropriately when needed   Coordinate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care   Assist with communication during emergency situations   Help maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming reception area Schedule:  Primarily weekday day shifts   One weekend shift per week required   Holiday availability may be required   Flexibility with scheduling preferred Preferred Qualifications  At least 1 year of veterinary client service or veterinary receptionist experience  Emergency, specialty, or urgent care veterinary experience is a plus   Strong customer service background with a proven ability to manage challenging situations professionally   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills   Strong organizational and multitasking abilities   Attention to detail and accuracy   Experience with point-of-sale systems and financial transactions   Ability to remain calm and compassionate in a fast-paced emergency environment   Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team   High school diploma or equivalent required   Associate degree or higher is a plus   Passion for helping pets and their families   Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset   Dependable, professional, and adaptable   Interested in building a long-term career within veterinary medicine Benefits Paid time off Health insurance Dental Insurance Vision insurance Employee discounts Flexible schedules 401K with company match Training and Career development  At Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville, we know that exceptional veterinary medicine begins with exceptional people. We have the latest specialized surgery and diagnostic instrumentation and equipment including 16-slice CT scanner, Vivid iQ echocardiogram platform, digital radiology, ultrasound systems, fluoroscopy unity, endoscopy, high-def Storz tower with new laparoscopic equipment, Arthrex equipment, LigaSure, Autocon III, Storz Ho-YAG laser, Synthes locking plates, and ESF equipment. In 2027, we will be completing our 20,000-square-foot specialty expansion and we will be adding Neurology, Cardiology, and other specialists to our team, as well as a new MRI scanner, CT scanner, linear accelerator, IR suite with ceiling-mounted fluoroscopy, and surgical suites measuring at least 18’ x 18’.
