  Veterinary Technician | $22-$29/hr Location: Clarksville, Tennessee Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM weekdays and 6:00 AM-6:00 PM weekends Compensation: $22-$29/hr based on experience + $2.50 shift/weekend differential available Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our Emergency team. This full-time role is ideal for an experienced veterinary professional who enjoys a variety of cases, hands-on patient care, and working alongside a supportive team while continuing to develop their skills in emergency medicine. Set up patients and equipment for procedures, including central lines, sampling lines, NG tubes, and urethral unblocking procedures. Stock supplies, including catheters, scrub, alcohol, syringes, pee pads, fluids, and fluid lines. Assist with radiographs. Set up and tear down patient beds for hospitalized patients. Prepare flushes and other supplies as directed by the veterinary team. Walk dogs and assist with routine patient care. Change bedding and clean patient cages. Complete laundry and dishwashing duties. Sweep, mop, and maintain a clean and organized hospital environment. Complete general hospital cleaning, including cleaning and scooping the lawn, emptying trash receptacles, refilling waste bags, and changing fly bags. Facilitate patient visits for stable, non-complicated cases. Support Veterinary Technicians and other members of the Emergency team with daily patient care and hospital operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment for patients, clients, and team members. Qualifications At least 1 year of animal handling experience. Comfortable handling dogs and cats in a veterinary hospital environment. Able to work collaboratively with Veterinary Technicians, veterinarians, and other hospital team members. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills and techniques. Comfortable working in a fast-paced Emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. Able to safely and appropriately handle animals weighing 50 pounds or more, including dogs weighing up to 150 pounds. Ability to frequently bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen, and to stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, and feel and reach with hands and arms.
