Job Description

We are working on behalf of a long established small animal hospital in Spartanburg, SC that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its team. The practice has cared for pets in this community since 1946 and holds a 4.6 star client rating, so you would be stepping into a role with a loyal, multi generational caseload and a reputation that is already built. The hospital runs on a walk-in basis through extended weekday hours, which keeps the caseload varied and gives you the chance to handle urgent presentations alongside routine wellness and preventive work. Clinically you would be well supported, with an in-house laboratory, radiology, and ultrasound on site, plus dentistry, internal medicine, and a full surgical service. The team works Fear Free, building patient comfort and low stress handling into every visit. The hospital is part of a national veterinary group, so the day to day feel stays local and clinical decisions stay with the doctors, while the benefits, mentorship, and development sit at the scale of a much larger network. Services are offered in both English and Spanish, reflecting the community the practice serves. Spartanburg itself is an affordable, historic city in Upstate South Carolina with easy access to Greenville, the Blue Ridge foothills, and a short, manageable commute. This role would suit a DVM who enjoys building long term client relationships and wants genuine autonomy over their medicine with an experienced team around them. Key Highlights • Long established small animal hospital serving Spartanburg since 1946 • Loyal, multi generational client base with a 4.6 star community rating • In-house laboratory, radiology, and ultrasound on site • Full surgical, dental, and internal medicine caseload • Fear Free approach to handling and patient comfort • Walk-in model with extended weekday hours and a genuinely varied caseload • Local clinical autonomy backed by the resources of a national veterinary group • Structured mentorship and clear leadership tracks for those who want them • Bilingual practice, with services offered in English and Spanish About You • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent • You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in South Carolina and in good standing • Comfortable with a varied walk-in caseload and confident prioritizing on the day • Collaborative and happy working closely with an experienced paraprofessional team • Clear communicator who enjoys client education and long term relationships • Committed to practicing a high standard of medicine with a positive, friendly attitude Benefits • Competitive base salary with a monthly production bonus and no negative accrual • Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 24/7 telehealth access • 401k with a generous company match • Short and long term disability cover and company paid professional liability insurance • Yearly CE allowance with dedicated paid CE days • Maternity leave and structured mentorship with leadership development tracks • Sign-on bonus and relocation support open to discussion
