Job Description

I’m partnering with a well-established, progressive small animal hospital that is seeking an experienced Medical Lead Veterinarian to take on a pivotal leadership role within their team. This is an opportunity for a clinically confident DVM who enjoys mentoring others, shaping medical standards, and playing an active role in the long-term success of a thriving hospital. The practice operates out of a modern, well-equipped facility with a loyal and growing client base. The team is made up of dedicated, collaborative veterinarians and experienced support staff who value high standards of medicine and excellent client communication. The hospital is well-supported operationally, allowing the Medical Lead to focus on clinical leadership, coaching associate veterinarians, and driving continuous improvement in patient care. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Practice Manager to build an engaged, high-performing team, lead doctor meetings, support mentorship and externship programs, and help guide the hospital’s medical and operational direction. While this is a leadership position, you’ll remain hands-on clinically, practicing high-quality medicine and serving as a role model for efficiency, professionalism, and client service. This is an ideal opportunity for a veterinarian who wants to step into leadership (or continue growing as a leader) within a supportive, growth-oriented environment that values collaboration, accountability, and professional development. Key Highlights: • Medical leadership role with real influence on clinical standards and culture • Mix of leadership responsibilities and hands-on clinical work • Strong partnership with an experienced Practice Manager • Opportunity to mentor and develop associate veterinarians • Progressive hospital focused on continuous improvement and growth • Involvement in doctor meetings, mentorship, and externship programs • Stable, well-supported team with a collaborative culture About You: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in South Carolina • At least 2 years of practical clinical experience • Passion for mentorship, leadership, and team development • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, servant-leader mindset Benefits: • Competitive leadership-level compensation package • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Generous PTO and paid holidays • CE allowance with paid CE time off • Professional dues, licenses, and memberships covered
