At Sun Dog Cat Moon Veterinary Clinic, we believe great veterinary care starts with seeing the whole pet—and the whole person caring for them.  Our team blends traditional veterinary medicine, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), and complementary therapies to create a thoughtful, individualized approach to patient care. Two Sides of Veterinary Care. This is a hybrid Veterinary Assistant / Client Service role designed for someone who enjoys both people and patient care.  You'll help create a positive experience for clients at the front desk while also stepping into clinical responsibilities throughout the day. No two days are exactly alike—and that's part of what makes this opportunity unique.  Client Service & Front Desk  You'll help keep the client experience welcoming, organized, and efficient by: Greeting clients and providing exceptional customer service   Answering phones and responding to client questions   Scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow   Supporting check-in and check-out   Processing payments and reviewing client information   Filling and preparing prescriptions   Communicating treatment recommendations and care instructions   Building lasting relationships with clients and their pets   Veterinary Assistant & Patient Care  When you're supporting the clinical team, you'll help provide compassionate, hands-on care by: Safely restraining patients for examinations, blood draws, and treatments   Assisting veterinarians and the veterinary team with procedures   Supporting patient preparation and recovery   Monitoring patients and communicating concerns to the clinical team   Performing cold laser therapy treatments following appropriate training   Supporting other patient-care responsibilities based on your experience and skill level   Maintaining clean, organized treatment and patient-care areas   Keep the Hospital Running Smoothly  Everyone at Sun Dog Cat Moon plays a role in maintaining a welcoming, efficient hospital. You'll also help with: Stocking and maintaining medical and office supplies   Laundry and general hospital upkeep   Cleaning and maintaining treatment areas, patient spaces, and equipment   Preparing rooms and supplies for daily appointments   Jumping in to support teammates when the day gets busy   We're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be asked where help is needed. What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is dependable, adaptable, personable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.  Required: 1+ year of veterinary experience preferred   Comfortable working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments   Strong communication and client service skills   Comfortable with basic veterinary patient handling and restraint   Ability to work confidently in both front-desk and clinical environments   Strong attention to detail and organization   Willingness to learn new skills and support different areas of the hospital   Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude   Ability to jump in wherever needed to keep the hospital running smoothly   Preferred: Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician experience   Client Service Representative, Veterinary Receptionist, or customer service experience   Experience with venipuncture, blood draws, patient restraint, or veterinary treatments   Experience with cold laser therapy   Interest in integrative, holistic, or complementary veterinary medicine   Fear Free or low-stress handling experience   Your Schedule  We're targeting approximately 33 hours per week, with a preference for a four-day schedule of approximately 8–8.5 hours per day.  Four-day schedule | Consistent day off | No weekend requirements currently  We're also willing to discuss alternative scheduling for the right candidate when experience, availability, and the needs of the practice align.
