Emergency Veterinary Technician | $21.00–$32.00/hr | + $5.00/hr Overnight Differential Location: Greenville, SC Schedule: Full-Time | 12-hour overnight shifts | 8:00 PM–8:00 AM Upstate Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Care is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our overnight Emergency team in Greenville, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Technician who enjoys emergency and specialty medicine, advanced patient care, and working as part of a collaborative team in a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital. Prepare and administer fluid therapy, monitor infusion pumps, and ensure appropriate fluid types and rates. Assist with dosage calculations and medication dispensing, including controlled substances and emergency medications, while following established safety protocols. Support veterinarians through all phases of surgery, including pre-medication, induction, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, recovery, postoperative care planning, and pain management. Perform blood collection through various routes and prepare samples for laboratory analysis. Monitor patients closely and communicate changes in patient status to veterinarians and other members of the medical team. Maintain clear communication with doctors, Veterinary Technicians, support staff, and clients regarding patient care and treatment plans. Prepare patients for discharge and provide client education regarding home care, medications, and follow-up instructions. Maintain accurate and legible medical records in accordance with hospital policies and protocols. Follow hospital policies, OSHA safety standards, and established medical protocols. Address client concerns professionally and respectfully while supporting a positive patient and client experience. Contribute to a collaborative, safe, and supportive work environment. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician required. Veterinary Emergency or Specialty experience preferred. Advanced veterinary knowledge including restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, venipuncture, anesthesia induction and monitoring, fluid therapy, drug calculations, pharmacology, laboratory equipment and procedures, and disease processes. Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain organized in a fast-paced Emergency and specialty environment. Strong communication skills with clients, veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and other hospital team members. Ability to work effectively with emergency and critical patients while maintaining a calm, professional approach. Fluent English speaking and reading skills are required for this role. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
