Requirements
We are working on behalf of a well-established, full-service small animal hospital in Columbia, SC that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its team. This is a role built around balance, with a 4-day work week, a last appointment at 4:20 PM, and a 2-hour lunch block built into every day. The hospital is open Monday to Friday only, so your evenings and weekends stay your own. Doctors are supported by a 3 to 1 staff-to-doctor ratio, which means you have the hands and the respect you need to practice good medicine. The caseload is mostly dogs and cats, with the occasional chicken or duck to keep things interesting, and covers medicine, surgery, and dentistry. The hospital has recently added a brand new ultrasound alongside in-house lab equipment, so diagnostics are quick and close at hand. Whether you are a new graduate looking for structured mentorship or an experienced DVM wanting to refine your skills and grow into new areas, this is a supportive, team-centered environment where you can do both. For the right person, there is also a pathway to long-term partnership down the line. Columbia itself is a great place to call home. Sitting where three rivers meet, it is known for kayaking, tubing, and riverside trails, with Congaree National Park minutes from downtown and Lake Murray close by.
