Job Description

Veterinary Pharmacy Technician Are you an experienced veterinary professional looking for new opportunities beyond general practice or emergency medicine? Position Overview As a Veterinary Pharmacy Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care through accurate and efficient pharmacy operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of emergency and critical care, along with excellent communication and multitasking skills. Key Responsibilities Process prescription requests via email, voicemail, and fax Communicate with clients regarding prescriptions, instructions, and refills Collaborate with veterinary staff on prescription needs Review doctor’s notes for prescription directives Understand medication classifications and potential side effects Accurately fill prescriptions in our in-house pharmacy Place and process prescription orders with external pharmacies Organize and maintain pharmacy inventory Ideal Candidate Qualifications Compassion for animals and dedication to their well-being Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations Job Requirements Veterinary Technician with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a veterinary practice High school diploma or GED Proficiency in computer systems and electronic medical records Evening, weekend, and rotating holiday shifts Part-time or full-time schedule available Benefits & Perks (Full-Time Employees) Employer-paid Medical Insurance premiums, plus paid deductibles for employees! OSVS is a 35,000-sf building with a very busy emergency service, a nationally-respected internship and residency program, and specialists in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Avian/Exotics.
