Built in 2018, 2nd Street is a AAHA accredited hospital providing comprehensive wellness, sick, and urgent care services to our small animal canine and feline patients as well as exotics and avian. We are Fear Free Certified! We're a member of the PVMA, AVMA, Association Avian Veterinarians, Association Reptile & Amphibian Veterinarians, and Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Our practice is located across from the Schmidt's Piazza in the thriving Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia.
We are located in the highly desirable, safe, rapidly evolving Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia with 3000-4000 new residential units within walking distance from the hospital making this a desirable area to work and live. In this hands-on role, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to support patient care, animal handling and restraint, treatment assistance, and daily hospital operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures. Restraint of cats and dogs; some exotic pet experience or interest a plus Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and facilities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. (Log patient weights, process lab specimens, and update client records) Maintaining cleanliness of hospital (clean, well stocked pharmacy and exam rooms, patient cages, and equipment maintenance) Interacting with clients in a compassionate and professional manner Facilitating the proper flow of appointments Provide information to clients regarding fees, preventives, medication, prescription diets and wellness packages Reinforce veterinarian recommendations Perform other tasks as needed to support the veterinary team. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience Dependable Self motivated Excellent cleaning skills Able to work weekends and evenings Excellent communication Team player Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds Benefits Competitive Compensation – $15.00–$20.00/hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
