Job Description

Bayshore Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits. We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit. Responsibilities include: Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and compensation: Compensation: $ 17 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance *Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred Proficiency in the following skills: Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments. Exotic animal experience is highly desired. Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service Why choose Bayshore Animal Hospital?
