Job Description

Willowbrook Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our awesome, patient-focused, fun, progressive veterinary team. We are a 1.5 doctor AAHA-accredited small animal hospital that is rapidly growing and looking to add to our team. Our small staff enjoys coming into work every day to put their best foot forward in a fun (yet professional), supportive, and drama-free environment. We are paper-light and use cloud-based electronic medical records. We realize that every clinic around is desperately trying to find more staff. So, what makes us different at Willowbrook? The practice is not owned by a faceless corporation only interested in the bottom line. We understand that doing the right thing for our team and our patients is not always the easiest or most profitable path. And we're ok with that! Your needs as an individual and the staff's needs as a team are just as important to the practice’s success as taking care of our clients and patients. We value each individual's talents and contributions to the practice. Everyone has a voice. Got special interests? We want to support your growth as a veterinary professional and we want everyone to reach their full potential. We prioritize team wellbeing and work/life balance, because we know that time away from work, doing non-work things is essential to your success at work. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician at a small animal hospital and should be able to demonstrate proficiency in: patient handling & restraint client communication & education, measuring vital signs, accurate and thorough record keeping, basic customer service skills (both in person and on the phone), medical math (i. e. dose calculations), phlebotomy, IV catheter & fluid management, radiology, anesthesia, basic dental procedures (including rads), basic surgical prep. Most importantly, you must have a pleasant & outgoing personality and be committed to consistently good client service. Some phone duties are also frequently shared among the technical staff. Compensation depends on experience and skill set. While we are primarily seeking someone for part-time hours (<30 hours per week), we'd consider full-time hours for the right applicant. Requirements: - Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology - Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and care - Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures - Experience in pet grooming, animal husbandry, or equine care is a plus - Familiarity with dog training and behavior modification techniques - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills and empathy towards animals Join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to the health and well-being of animals. Apply now to make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners!
