Job Description

Are you a veterinarian with a strong interest in orthopedic surgery looking for the right team and tools to take your skills further? Atlas is working with a highly respected, privately owned veterinary hospital in the greater Cleveland area—they’re offering a rare opportunity to join a team that values high standards, collaboration, and surgical excellence. With nearly 50 years of continuous service, this hospital has earned its reputation as a leader in advanced veterinary care, providing a hybrid model that seamlessly blends general practice, emergency medicine, and specialty services. The facility features five state-of-the-art surgical suites, several of which are fully dedicated to advanced and orthopedic procedures, supported by cutting-edge imaging tools like digital radiography, dental X-rays, and ultrasound. The hospital also houses a fully equipped rehabilitation department, offering hydrotherapy via an underwater treadmill, laser therapy, acupuncture, and customized recovery programs—allowing you to see your patients through every step of their surgical journey, from diagnosis to full recovery. You'll be working alongside a large and experienced team of over 30 veterinarians and 30 RVTs, including several who have advanced training in orthopedic and minimally invasive surgery. Whether you’re already comfortable with procedures like TPLOs and fracture repairs, or looking for mentorship in these areas, you’ll have the chance to grow in a supportive environment that prioritizes professional development. The surgical caseload here is robust, diverse, and ideal for a veterinarian who wants to immerse themselves in a high-quality, team-driven setting. Above all, what sets this hospital apart is its culture. Leadership genuinely values its people and fosters a workplace where collaboration and compassion are part of daily practice. You’ll be surrounded by people who want to see you succeed—and have fun doing it. If you’re passionate about surgery and ready to step into a role where you’ll be challenged, supported, and inspired, this could be the perfect fit. Key Highlights: • Privately owned, AAHA-accredited hybrid hospital with a 50-year reputation for excellence • Five cutting-edge surgical suites including dedicated orthopedic spaces • Strong focus on soft tissue and orthopedic caseloads with opportunity to expand surgical experience • Mentorship and collaboration with experienced orthopedic surgeons • Advanced diagnostics including digital X-ray, dental radiography, ultrasound, and IDEXX in-house lab • Expanded ICU with large runs, isolation units, and oxygen therapy support • 24/7 in-house pharmacy staffed by Certified Pharmacy Technicians • Supportive, team-based environment that fosters growth and innovation • Flexible scheduling that supports work-life balance • Active investment in continuing education and professional development About You: • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree • Must hold an Ohio State License or have the ability to obtain one • 2+ years of clinical experience in small animal medicine • A genuine passion for orthopedic surgery and a desire to grow in this area • Comfortable with—or eager to develop—skills in procedures such as fracture repair and TPLOs • Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting Benefits: • Competitive base salary with total compensation potential of $200K–$250K • Production bonus with no negative accrual • Signing bonus and/or relocation assistance available • Comprehensive medical, dental, and disability insurance • 401(k) with 4% employer match • Uncapped CE allowance with dedicated CE days, including support for orthopedic training • All licensing, professional dues, and insurance covered • Generous PTO and flexible scheduling options
