Lewis Animal Hospital was established in 1914 by Dr. Tim Lewis’ grandfather. The original practice location was in Carthage. Dr. Tim Lewis graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. He joined the practice and ran it until his retirement in 2010. Dr. Les Polasky graduated from the Ohio State University in 1988. He joined the practice in 1990 and eventually became a partner. Upon Dr. Lewis’s retirement he became the sole owner of the practice.
Requirements
Lewis Animal Hospital is seeking an outgoing Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative to serve as the welcoming face of our hospital. In this fast-paced role, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused customer service environment. Schedule and compensation: Compensation: $17-18 per hour, for each hour worked This is a part-time position, with availability needed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, all day. No weekends! Full-time Benefits Package*: Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401k - with company match beginning 2027 Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance *Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 3+ years of experience in a customer service, reception, or client-facing role Previous veterinary receptionist or healthcare-related front-desk experience preferred Proficiency in the following skills: Ability to manage a multi-phone line system while assisting in-person clients Experience working with veterinary practice management software, especially [insert software], preferred Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and emotionally sensitive situations Strong organizational and time management skills Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy periods Why Choose Us?
