Requirements
We are working on behalf of a leading emergency and specialty hospital in Westbury, Long Island, NY that is looking to welcome an Emergency Veterinarian to its high-acuity team. This is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a busy emergency and referral caseload, backed by true on-site specialty support across Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Oncology, so you are never practicing in isolation and can collaborate in real time. The hospital is equipped for advanced medicine, with a 128-slice CT, a 1.5T MRI, multiple ultrasound units including a dedicated ICU machine, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. You will be supported by an exceptional ER team, including experienced technicians and an ECC VTS, in a teaching hospital environment built around rounds, case collaboration, and genuine mentorship. The caseload is primarily small and companion animal, with some exotics. It is also one of the few hospitals in the area with a dedicated social worker supporting patients, clients, and care teams, which speaks to how seriously the group takes wellbeing.
