Veterinarian – Medical Director - Rochester, New York Full-Time | Clinical Leadership | Mentorship-Focused | Production + No Negative Accrual An established small animal practice in Rochester is seeking an experienced veterinarian to serve as Medical Director and help lead the hospital's continued clinical and team development. This is a hands-on leadership position for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing medicine while also mentoring doctors, developing teams, strengthening hospital culture, and helping shape the clinical direction of a practice. You'll partner closely with hospital leadership while remaining connected to patients, clients, and the veterinary team. The Opportunity As Medical Director, you'll provide clinical leadership while helping create an environment where veterinarians and team members can continue learning and developing. Key areas of responsibility may include: • Providing clinical and medical leadership • Maintaining high standards of patient care • Mentoring and developing veterinarians • Supporting clinical education and knowledge sharing • Partnering with practice leadership on hospital strategy • Identifying opportunities to improve clinical workflows • Supporting doctor and staff development • Helping strengthen hospital culture • Promoting effective communication and collaboration • Supporting continued hospital growth • Practicing medicine and maintaining a clinical caseload This isn't intended to be a leadership role that removes you from medicine. Clinical Environment The hospital provides comprehensive companion animal medicine with a team that values collaboration, continued learning, and individualized patient care. Doctors have exposure to a diverse caseload that may include: • Wellness and preventive medicine • Sick and complex medical cases • Diagnostics • Surgery • Dentistry • Chronic disease management • Senior and quality-of-life care • Select exotic and non-traditional companion animal cases Experience with exotic medicine is not required. Teaching & Mentorship A passion for teaching is particularly valuable in this position.
