Requirements
We are working on behalf of a community focused small animal practice in Glens Falls, NY that is looking for a Relief Veterinarian to help cover shifts. This is a relationship driven practice that puts real effort into keeping clients informed and building long-term trust with families and their pets. The owner has a genuine passion for nonprofit and shelter medicine and runs a 501(c)(3) that supports local animal rescue and high volume spay and neuter programs, so you will be joining a team that cares about the wider community, not just the appointment book. Scheduling is genuinely flexible. You can pick the days that suit you, anywhere from Monday to Saturday, and if you need to leave by a certain time the hours can be adjusted. Typical shifts run 9 to 6:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9 to 6 on Tuesday, and 9 to 5 on Friday and Saturday. Appointments are 20 minutes and a full hour is blocked off for lunch. You will most likely be the only doctor on shift, supported by two technicians and a strong group of assistants. The hospital has ultrasound, a full in-house lab, radiographs, and dental radiographs, so you have the tools to work up cases properly. Surgery days are Tuesdays, and surgery in a relief capacity is entirely optional. The practice is also looking to bring on a permanent veterinarian within the next six months, so if you enjoy the team and the pace, there is a clear path to something longer term.
