Job Description

Commack Veterinary Center is looking for full-time and/or part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing practice. We are a compassionate group that provides the highest level of veterinary care. We constantly strive to provide the most relevant information and dedication to our clients. Our daily goal is to educate our clients allowing us to bridge the gap between owners and their pets. We are seeking a compassionate animal lover that can multitask while maintaining patience and empathy for our patients and clients. Responsibilities include assisting our Veterinarians and Technicians, in all areas of the clinic, with: exams and procedures, appointment preparation, daily inventory and restocking, animal handling, bathing, and maintaining a clean and sanitized Clinic at all times. The ideal candidate has a patient and caring personality, and is an ambitious, hardworking, and knowledgeable team player who has experience working with dogs and cats in a veterinary environment. Hospital Hours: Monday 9-6pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 9-8pm, Thursday 9-5pm, Friday 9-6pm and Saturday 9-5pm. Qualifications High school diploma; a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus 1-2 years relevant work experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic. · Ability to maintain a positive attitude. · Eager to learn, while being able to take initiative. · Ability to learn veterinary software programs. · Excellent communication skills in order to effectively communicate with clients, employees, and management. · Ability to prioritize and multitask. · Reliability and punctuality is expected.
