Byram Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled full-time Veterinary Lead Technician to our team At Byram Animal Hospital, we’ve proudly served families and their pets across Stanhope, Byram Township, and the surrounding communities of Morris, Sussex, and Warren Counties since 1996. We are a full service general veterinary practice located in the heart of Sussex County. We understand that pets are family, and each patient is seen by one of our experienced doctors to ensure attentive, individualized, and high-quality care at every visit.  Whether your visit is for a routine wellness exam or a more complex diagnostic consultation, our team is here to support your pet’s health at every stage of life—while making each visit as comfortable and reassuring as possible.  Veterinary Lead Technician  Byram Animal Hospital in Byram Township, NJ  Salary:  $20.00 - $25.00 depending on experience  What You'll Do  Assisting the Doctors in appointments   Take patient histories from clients for appointments   Technician appointments   Communicating with clients via phone and in-person   Executing treatment orders, canine and Feline vaccine knowledge and schedule    Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting and/or exam rooms   Answers client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures    Educates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions   This position requires the ability to sit, walk, squat, bend, stand, reach, lift and type   follow up appointments    Monitor anesthesia for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures    Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures, including injections, oral medications, blood draws, basic pharmacology and bandaging    Provide comfort, love, and a skilled hand to patients   Task delegation Be efficient with time management Assist with staff scheduling Participate in management meetings as needed Promote an ethical working environment Work as a team with hospital leadership to promote and develop collaborative patient care, client service, and financial/medical goals Customer service in all forms - interacting face to face, occasionally answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with client's post-visit, and educating clients and empowering them to provide the best care to their pets (Experience with Avimark a plus) Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system Clearly communicate your findings to a doctor, refraining from making a diagnosis Understand how to prep and monitor animals for surgical procedures Draw blood samples. Collect stool and urine samples under the supervision of a doctor and as allowed by state regulations.
