Long Valley Animal Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled experienced part-time Veterinary Assistant to our team. Come see why our motto is “Where Cold Noses Meet Warm Hearts”. https://longvalleyanimalhospital.com/ Part-Time Veterinary Assistant  Long Valley Animal Hospital in Long Valley, NJ $18.00-$22.00 an hour, based on experience  WHAT YOU’LL DO Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas Perform physical assessments and record your observations Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids) Educating clients on preventive care and having a strong knowledge of the products we stock Customer service in all forms - interacting face to face, occasionally answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, following up with clients post-visit, and educating clients and empowering them to provide the best care to their pets (Experience with Cornerstone a plus) Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: 401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment  Flexible scheduling  Continuing education allowance and professional development support  Mental Health Resources  Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave  Perks for Your Pets Too!  Because we know how much your pets mean to you, we offer special benefits designed just for them: Pet Care: Discounts on veterinary services and products  Diagnostics: Savings on reference lab testing  Nutrition: Discounts on Purina pet foods  Insurance: Preferred rates with our pet insurance partner  REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent required 1+ years veterinary assistant or technician experience Comfortable with dogs/cats of all sizes and temperaments Computer savvy.
