Working collaboratively with board-certified Radiation Oncologists, and a multidisciplinary team, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of radiation treatments while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication. Responsibilities Complete required LINAC (Linear Accelerator) training and maintain competency in the operation and safety procedures associated with radiation therapy equipment. Administer radiation therapy treatments as directed by the Radiation Oncologist following all hospital and radiation safety protocols. Set up for anesthetic or sedation events. Set up and pressure-check breathing systems on the anesthesia machine. Place IVC and draw blood as needed. Calculate drug dosages and prepare medications obtained from the Cubex. Record vital parameters on the anesthesia record. Demonstrate knowledge of anesthetic drugs and appropriate dosages. Demonstrate knowledge of normal vital parameter ranges under anesthesia. Understand blood pressure, ECG, capnography, and pulse oximetry, including recognition of abnormalities and appropriate troubleshooting and intervention. Monitor and provide anesthetic support for ASA Physical Status I, II, and III patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments and CT scans. Collaborate closely with the Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Anesthesia, and Nursing teams to ensure efficient patient care and workflow. Maintain radiation safety standards for patients, staff, and equipment. Assist with patient preparation, positioning, recovery, and discharge as appropriate. Ensure radiation oncology equipment, treatment areas, and supplies are properly maintained and stocked. Qualifications LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred Three years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital. Previous experience working in an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital preferred Demonstrated proficiency with computers, electronic medical records, and data entry. Experience and knowledge with anesthesia administration and protocols required Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
