Red Bank Veterinary Hospital acquired an existing practice in Hillsborough, New Jersey and began serving the community as Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, Hillsborough. Today, our Hillsborough location is proud to provide over 7 specialties to the Central Jersey area. Veterinary Assistant, Emergency $17 - $19/hr. | Red Bank Veterinary Hospital | Hillsborough, NJ Day shift, Mid- shift, Night shift Join the team at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, where high-level specialty medicine meets the warmth of a community-focused practice. Our 19,000 sq. ft. facility is equipped with advanced technology- including a new 16-slice CT, dedicated orthopedic and soft tissue surgical suites, and a centralized ICU- to support 24/7 emergency care and a robust range of specialties from cardiology and oncology to acupuncture and primary care. Compensation: $17 - $19/hr. based on experience Schedule: Full- Time Flexible scheduling options including day shift, mid- shift, night/ overnight shift One weekend shift per week required Job Description: The Veterinary Assistant will provide support to our emergency department. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, works well independently, and enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Responsibilities: Provide support to all clinical departments as needed. Remain accessible and respond to requests for assistance throughout the hospital. Assist with patient care, restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and radiographs. Monitor Blood Bank appointments and assist with patient flow. Perform basic laboratory duties, including running in-house tests and submitting samples. Communicate effectively with clients, doctors, and hospital staff. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing departmental needs. Experience handling a variety of patient species, including exotics, is a plus. Basic computer and medical terminology knowledge required. CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) preferred Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus! Why Assistants Choose RBVH?
