Cubex Technician $18 - $20/hr. | Red Bank Veterinary Hospital | Red Bank, NJ If you’re looking to grow your skills in a cutting-edge environment, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital offers the opportunity to work in a new, 100,000+ sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital designed for advanced specialty and emergency care. With MRI, CT, PET scanning, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated ER, and expanded training spaces, RBVH combines innovative medicine with compassionate care for pets, clients, and team members alike. Compensation: $18 - $20/hr. based on experience Full-Time Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, and Vision 401(k) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Continuing Education (CE) + Free Vetbloom (RACE approved CE) access Uniform Allowance Paid Time Off: Sick Days Vacation Days Bereavement Leave VTNE and/or License Reimbursement Disability & Life Insurance Employee Pet Discount Schedule: Full Time Wednesday - Saturday 8am-6pm Weekends/Holidays as needed Job Description: The Cubex Technician plays an essential role in maintaining accurate and efficient medication and medical supply inventory throughout the hospital. Using the Cubex automated dispensing and inventory management system, the technician is responsible for stocking, logging, organizing, and monitoring controlled and non-controlled medications, as well as medical supplies. This role conducts daily cycle counts, maintains inventory accuracy, identifies and addresses discrepancies, and helps ensure the clinical team has timely access to the medications and supplies needed to provide quality patient care. Responsibilities: Knowledge and understanding of DEA protocols, regulations, and procedures for the administration and handling of controlled substances. Accurate and compliant documentation of medications ordered, dispensed, and wasted. Document controlled substances in designated Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) logs in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements. Daily stocking of all Cubex cabinets in the hospital with the necessary medications and supplies. Perform daily cycle counts as assigned; Remove expired medications. Resolve medication discrepancies within MyCubex; Strong attention to detail. Demonstrate basic understanding of medications and med-calculations. Maintain employee/user lists: to include fingerprint enrollment. Adjust minimum/maximum inventory levels. Maintain inventory stock levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies. Label bins and pockets accordingly during the assigning and stocking of items. Routine organization of all medications and supplies within the Cubex and backstock. Perform technical support when needed for any of the cabinets. Issue medications and other pharmaceutical items for patient care according to professional standards, State and Federal regulations. Concise and effective communication with all staff members. Demonstrate effective workload prioritization and workflow management. Maintain a safe and clean environment by complying with the hospital policies/procedures. Attendance and timely arrival are essential job functions. Availability to work weekends and holidays. Perform other job duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Familiarity with veterinary medications Familiarity with DEA standards and procedures Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
