Job Description

We are working on behalf of a nationally recognized, long-standing AAHA-accredited small animal and exotics hospital in Windham, NH that is looking to welcome an experienced veterinarian into the role of Medical Director. This is a culture-first practice built around compassion for the team, clients, and patients, led by a hands-on owner with nearly three decades in practice who is ready to hand the clinical reins to the right person. The structure of the role is what makes it stand out. You will spend three days a week seeing appointments, performing surgery and dentals, and practicing at the top of your license. The fourth day is dedicated to leadership, mentoring newer veterinarians and running the weekly two-hour hospital rounds. A personal assistant handles your check-ins, check-outs, and task lists so you can focus on medicine, and the team works hard to stay on schedule, so you leave on time. You will work four 10-hour days, Monday to Friday only, which means a three-day weekend every week. The hospital is well equipped with digital and dental radiography, laser, ultrasound, and a full in-house lab, with visiting specialist support from a boarded surgeon, a cardiologist, and two traveling internists. Life in southern New Hampshire is a real draw too, with Boston about 40 minutes away, the beaches and ski mountains each around 45 minutes, and no state income or sales tax. If you are a confident diagnostician who enjoys teaching and wants a leadership role where your time is genuinely respected, this is well worth a conversation.
