Job Description

Large Animal Associate -- Four day work week with shared on call for large animal. Two nights a week and every 3rd to 4th weekend on call. The on call schedule is fairly quiet. Eighty-five percent mobile work with a barn at the hospital for pigs and small ruminants. You will have a work station at the hospital paperwork/callbacks, etc. A laptop is provided and we use Neovet cloud based software for use off site if needed. We run 2 Toyota Tacoma's with Bowie units. The majority of large animal work is with dairy cattle with some beef cattle, goats, sheep and pigs. We inspect flocks for a local poultry company, so we are unable to see birds of any type. A bulk of the week is reproduction on dairy farms utilizing trans-rectal Easi-Scan linear probes and goggles. If interested in small animal medicine the opportunity to branch out is possible but not required.
