Job Description

Position Overview: Licensed by the state board, veterinarians are responsible for examining animals to assess their health and diagnose problems. Ability to use a combination of diagnostics such as physical examination, neurology, blood work, radiography, and pathology. Test for and vaccinate against diseases. Must be able to operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines, and perform surgeries. Essential functions and responsibilities: Provide scientifically based, high-quality care which promotes longevity and increases pet health span. Perform preventive care, provide diagnostics and therapeutic interventions to increase longevity & manage long-term health plans. Collaborate with pet parents to develop proactive health strategies that enhance their pets’ health span. Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, exercise, behavior and emotional well-being. Empower technicians and support staff by promoting an inclusive learning environment, sharing best practices, and adhering to high standards of medical care. Work closely with pet care and wellness service teams to co-market services that promote pet longevity. Advocate for approach that incorporates preventive care and wellness initiatives. Conduct routine health assessments and exams, prescribe and administer medications, develop preventative health care plans including vaccination schedules, conduct nutrition evaluations, and conduct routine dental care. Leverage technology to enhance the pet parent and companion experience, ensuring efficient communication and care management. Stay informed about the latest digital tools and trends in veterinary medicine and pet wellness. Ensure complete and accurate medical records complying with state, federal, and industry regulations. Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote animal health awareness and responsible pet ownership. Build strong relationships with pet parents to foster a supportive and trusting environment. Education & Certifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited veterinary school. 2+ years of experience as a practicing veterinarian. Valid veterinary license to practice in the state. Qualifications: A passion for Paw Springs Veterinary Hospital’s mission and a genuine interest in providing a superior experience for patients and clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Strong medical proficiencies with preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities and treatment plans. Commitment to integrity; practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the code of ethics, and compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements. Passion for working with pets and humans, and a commitment to their well-being Physical Requirements: Paw Springs Veterinary Hospital Team Members routinely perform the following physical demands. All Paw Springs Veterinary Hospital Team Members are expected to perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. Stand and/or walk for up to 6 hours without a break. Kneel, bend, squat, and twist their body. Repetitive hand and arm movement; reach, grab, pull, and push objects. Perform duties in an environment with loud sounds from animals and smells from pet waste and cleaning chemicals. Perform work both indoors and outdoors; experiencing temperature changes according to season, building heating and cooling, and weather. Lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
