Urgent Care Veterinarian – Grandy, North Carolina About the Role An excellent opportunity is available for an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join an established small animal practice in Grandy, North Carolina, serving communities across the Outer Banks region. Full-time, part-time and relief opportunities are available, offering flexibility for veterinarians looking for a position that combines urgent care with traditional primary care medicine. The role offers competitive base compensation with production-based bonus potential, flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits for eligible team members. Importantly, the urgent care service does not require overnight coverage, providing a more predictable alternative to traditional emergency medicine. About the Practice This established companion animal practice provides a combination of preventative, medical, surgical, dental and urgent veterinary care. Veterinarians have access to in-house laboratory testing, digital diagnostic imaging and dedicated dental resources, supporting efficient investigation and treatment of a broad range of cases. The practice maintains a collaborative, client-focused environment with an emphasis on compassionate medicine and strong relationships with pet owners. The varied caseload provides opportunities to maintain broad general practice skills while gaining additional experience managing patients requiring more immediate medical attention. Responsibilities Provide urgent care and primary care consultations Examine, diagnose and treat a varied range of medical conditions Assess patients requiring same-day veterinary attention Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans Perform routine surgical and dental procedures according to experience Utilise in-house diagnostic resources to support clinical decision-making Recognise patients requiring a higher level of emergency or specialist care Communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly with pet owners Provide compassionate and client-focused veterinary care Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records Collaborate effectively with veterinarians and support team members Maintain high standards of patient care and clinical communication Candidate Profile DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree Eligible to obtain veterinary licensure in North Carolina Strong foundation in small animal general practice medicine Comfortable managing both routine and urgent medical cases Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and client-service skills Collaborative and team-oriented approach Commitment to continued professional development Experienced veterinarians and suitable new graduates are encouraged to apply.
