Job Description

Part-Time Associate Veterinarian – Fayetteville, North Carolina About the Role An excellent opportunity is available for a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join a specialist diagnostic environment in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This position offers competitive part-time compensation, flexible scheduling and opportunities for diagnostic imaging mentorship and continuing education. Rather than carrying a traditional general practice caseload, the veterinarian will focus primarily on patient monitoring, preparation, recovery and clinical support during advanced diagnostic procedures. The position could be particularly attractive to an experienced veterinarian seeking reduced or part-time hours, or a clinician interested in developing greater exposure to diagnostic imaging within a structured clinical setting. About the Practice This specialist clinical environment focuses on advanced veterinary diagnostic imaging and provides services for a varied patient population. Veterinarians work alongside experienced imaging professionals and support staff, with access to advanced imaging modalities including ultrasound and cross-sectional diagnostic technology. Patient safety, diagnostic quality and collaborative case management are central to the clinical environment. The role provides opportunities to develop additional knowledge of imaging workflows while continuing to use core veterinary skills in patient assessment and monitoring. Located in Fayetteville, NC, the position is within convenient reach of Southern Pines, Pinehurst and surrounding communities in central North Carolina. Responsibilities Monitor veterinary patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures Perform appropriate pre-procedure patient assessments Support safe patient preparation for diagnostic procedures Monitor patients throughout imaging and recovery Recognise changes in patient condition and respond appropriately Collaborate closely with imaging clinicians, veterinary technicians and support staff Provide patient-focused care throughout scheduled appointments Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records Communicate relevant clinical information effectively with colleagues Follow established patient safety and clinical protocols Contribute to an organised and controlled diagnostic environment Participate in relevant continuing education and professional development Candidate Profile DVM, VMD or equivalent veterinary degree Eligible to obtain veterinary licensure in North Carolina Strong patient assessment and monitoring abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Comfortable working within a structured clinical environment Interest in veterinary diagnostic imaging and continued learning Commitment to patient safety and high-quality veterinary care Ability to work collaboratively with specialist clinicians and support teams Previous specialist imaging experience is not necessarily required, making this an interesting opportunity for veterinarians looking to expand their diagnostic knowledge. Compensation & Benefits The position offers a package designed to provide flexibility, professional development and competitive compensation, with benefits dependent on working pattern and eligibility. Potential offerings include: Competitive hourly or per-diem compensation depending on experience and schedule (Salary at $140,000 to $160,000 FTE) Part-time schedule with flexible working options Diagnostic imaging mentorship Continuing education and professional development opportunities Professional membership and licensing support where applicable Professional liability coverage where applicable Retirement and healthcare benefits subject to hours and eligibility Access to advanced diagnostic imaging resources Opportunity to develop additional diagnostic and patient-monitoring skills Specific benefits may vary according to the agreed part-time schedule and employment arrangement. Apply Today Veterinarians searching for Part-Time Associate Veterinarian jobs in Fayetteville, NC or veterinary opportunities near Southern Pines and Pinehurst are encouraged to apply. This position offers an alternative to traditional general practice, combining part-time flexibility, patient-focused clinical work and exposure to advanced veterinary diagnostic imaging within a collaborative specialist environment.
