Job Description

An exceptional opportunity has opened for an experienced veterinarian to lead a brand-new, state-of-the-art specialty and emergency hospital in the Charlotte region. This flagship facility—set just north of Charlotte in Huntersville—has been purpose-built to deliver advanced medical care within a collaborative, doctor-led environment. This privately owned, veterinarian-led group is renowned for its culture of medical excellence, mentorship, and empowerment. As Medical Director, you’ll partner closely with the Hospital Director to shape and drive the success of this new hospital from day one. The hospital will feature cutting-edge technology, multiple specialty departments, and a highly skilled support team dedicated to clinical quality and compassionate care. Leaders here enjoy unparalleled support from regional and national teams, opportunities for professional development, and even the chance to become a shareholder in the organization—a rare opportunity to take true ownership in your hospital’s growth and success. You’ll oversee the medical services, mentor and develop doctors across both specialty and emergency teams, and foster a culture where caregivers thrive. This is a dynamic and highly visible leadership role for someone who’s motivated to make a lasting impact within one of the most respected veterinary networks in the country. This is a largely non-clinical role, giving you the time you need to focus on supporting your team and driving the growth of the hospital. Key Highlights: • Brand-new 24/7 Emergency & Specialty hospital in the Charlotte metro area • True doctor-led organization with shareholder opportunities • Dyad leadership model pairing you with an experienced Hospital Director • Advanced facility design and cutting-edge diagnostic equipment • Opportunity to build and shape a growing medical team • Competitive compensation, including student loan repayment and paid parental leave • Supportive leadership and an exceptional referral partner network About You: • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US • You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in North Carolina • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership or specialty experience • Strong communicator with proven ability to lead during growth or transition • Passionate about mentoring others and maintaining high medical standards Benefits: • Competitive base salary ($200,000 - $250,000) with leadership bonus structure • Shareholder eligibility and ownership potential • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance • Paid parental leave and student loan repayment program • Continuing education support and professional development opportunities
