What You'll Do Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients Support patient intake, appointments, treatments, and discharge Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces Assist with radiographs, laboratory testing, and other diagnostic procedures Prepare patients for surgery and treatment Provide nursing care, monitoring, and comfort for hospitalized patients Administer medications and vaccinations as directed Clean, disinfect, and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation Restock supplies and help maintain an organized hospital Provide compassionate client support and basic education regarding pet care, medications, and treatment instructions Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to the medical team Skills, Knowledge & Expertise High school diploma or equivalent required Previous veterinary hospital, animal clinic, or animal care experience required RVT credential preferred; veterinary technology education or VTNE eligibility a plus Strong animal handling, restraint, and patient-care skills Ability to assist with exams, treatments, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia, and hospitalized patients Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital with dogs, cats, bodily fluids, medical equipment, cleaning products, and unexpected patient behavior Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and remain active throughout the workday Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds with appropriate assistance Dependable, compassionate, professional, and committed to quality patient care What We Offer Compensation Veterinary Assistant: $16–$18/hour, based on experience Registered Veterinary Technician: $20–$23/hour, based on experience and qualifications Full-time team members enjoy: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays Continuing education and training opportunities Employee pet care discounts Flexible scheduling options Career development opportunities within veterinary medicine We also support team members who want to continue developing their skills through veterinary technician education, credentialing, and hands-on mentorship.
