🏥 We have a large facility, a talented team of 6 doctors, and a dedicated support staff. 🤝 Our team members are cross-trained and share responsibilities throughout the hospital, creating a cohesive, communicative environment with high job satisfaction and low turnover. 🐕 For our small animal patients, we have 7 fully stocked exam rooms, a large treatment and care area and full ability for in house diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and more. 🐴 Our equine patients are equally as important, with exam areas, a surgery suite and diagnostic equipment including a new equine ultrasound machine.

🚵‍♀️ Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, hunting, and back country exploring. ☀ In the warmer months get out on the trails for a day hike in the Gallatin or Bridger mountains, enjoy some of the West’s best fly-fishing on the Madison River, or raft the Gallatin River. ⛄ In the snowy months, hit the slopes at Bridger Bowl to ski the cold smoke, or take the short drive to Big Sky.

Job Description

All West Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced mixed animal Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile veterinary assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, and outpatient procedures. This unique role will provide the opportunity to work with equine patients during the summer months and small-animal patients during the winter, offering valuable experience across both areas of veterinary medicine. We are seeking a dependable, motivated candidate who is enthusiastic about working with both equine and small-animal patients and is comfortable transitioning between the two areas of veterinary medicine throughout the year. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, multitasks efficiently, anticipates team needs, communicates professionally, and takes pride in providing exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit. In this position, you will take an active role in: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint for both equine and small animal during outpatient and procedural care Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces Schedule and compensation: Compensation: $ 19 - $22 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday . Voluntary weekend coverage available for hospitalized equine patients. Farm calls are a possibility in the future for equine patients. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance *Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 2+ years of experience in veterinary assistantrequired Veterinary experience with equine patients preferred; boarding, ranch, or other hands-on equine experience will also be considered Proficiency in the following skills: Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs, cats, and horses of varying sizes and temperaments Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs Ability to administer oral medications to both equine and small animals Radiographs and proper positioning Proper bandaging techniques on equine patients Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Why choose All West Veterinary Hospital?
