Requirements
Hiring for an experienced veterinary assistant or RVT. This is a full-time position, working five days per week, NO Weekends. Our Clinic Hours are 8:30-5:00 Monday through Friday. Must be able to perform skilled technician duties, including, but not limited to, recording proper medical record history, collecting, running and reading lab samples, discharging of all routine surgeries, performing nail trims, ear cleaning and anal gland expressions, reviewing prescribed medication, products, and diets. Additional duties include restraining animals as necessary, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and placing iv catheters. This position also includes interacting with clients in person and on the telephone, often those who are under stress or in emergency situations. It also includes computerized scheduling, dispensing medication, routine office tasks, and cleaning. Excellent people skills and telephone skills are required. Superior organization, outstanding computer skills, and compassionate care for animals is required. Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting preferred - Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and animal care practices - Knowledge of veterinary critical care, aseptic technique, pet grooming, animal restraint, animal handling, and pet care - Ability to handle animals with care and compassion - Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques - Familiarity with kennel operations and animal husbandry practices - Basic understanding of pet grooming techniques - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a team environment - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Physical stamina to lift heavy animals and stand for long periods of time
