Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort is an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary hospital that has been serving the community since 1946. Our mission is simple: It’s all about caring. We are a 13-doctor practice committed to high-quality medicine, advanced diagnostics, and exceptional client service. We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician who wants to utilize their skills fully, work collaboratively with doctors, and grow within a supportive, team-oriented environment. Position Overview The Registered Veterinary Technician plays a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and client education while supporting veterinarians in medical and surgical procedures. Essential Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection Take and process radiographs, including dental radiology Perform dental prophylaxis Assist in surgery, including anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Support preventative, sick, and injury appointments Obtain and accurately document patient histories in the electronic medical record Educate clients and advocate for patient wellness Maintain surgical instruments and equipment Mentor and support fellow team members Continue developing clinical knowledge and technical skills Qualifications Credentialed Veterinary Technician with an active state license (or currently enrolled in an accredited Veterinary Technology program) Strong technical and medical math skills (drug calculations, CRIs, conversions) Excellent communication and client service skills Detail-oriented with strong time management abilities Positive, team-focused attitude Ability to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment Benefits Salary: $20-28/hour DOE Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (effective first of the month after hire) 401(k) with company match Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) options Employer-paid Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability options Employer-paid Life Insurance ($15,000) with voluntary additional options Generous Continuing Education allowance Personal pet discounts Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Blue Springs offers a family-friendly community just outside Kansas City, with excellent schools, beautiful parks and lakes, and convenient access to shopping, dining, and entertainment.
