Associate Veterinarian – Small Animal | Southgate, Michigan Location: Southgate, MI (Detroit Metro Area) Schedule: Full-Time Salary: $110,000 – $160,000 per year Sign-On & Relocation Package: Up to $75,000 Benefits: PTO, 401(k), CE stipend, Paid Parental Leave, Medical/Dental/Vision, Emotional wellbeing support About the Role: They are seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join a well-established, fully renovated small animal hospital serving the Detroit metro area. This role is ideal for veterinarians with 1+ years of experience who are passionate about delivering high-quality medicine while building lasting client relationships. Both experienced doctors and those seeking structured mentorship will find strong clinical support and professional development opportunities. Veterinarians in this role will enjoy local medical autonomy backed by national resources, combining independence with strong operational and professional support. About the Practice: This practice has proudly served the Southgate and greater Detroit community since 1953. The hospital provides comprehensive small animal services including: Wellness exams and vaccinations Dental care and surgery Internal medicine Daytime emergency services Cold laser therapy The facility is newly renovated and equipped with modern medical technology. The collaborative team includes experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and strong leadership support, creating an environment focused on quality medicine, teamwork, and mentorship. Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive physical exams and diagnostic workups Develop and implement treatment plans Perform surgical and dental procedures Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols Maintain accurate and detailed medical records Communicate effectively with clients regarding diagnoses and treatment options Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on operational priorities Participate in training, protocol updates, and hospital management initiatives Support teamwork, staff efficiency, and high standards of patient care Candidate Profile: DVM degree from an accredited college or university Active Michigan veterinary license DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Minimum 1 year of veterinary practice experience preferred Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed Veterinarians committed to clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care are encouraged to apply.
