Job Description

Lead the Team. Support the Team. Make a Difference. At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), great emergency medicine doesn’t happen because of one person. It happens because a strong team shows up for each other, communicates, and knows they can count on one another when things get intense. We’re looking for a Veterinary Team Lead who is ready to step up, support their teammates, and help create a culture where people feel confident, heard, and empowered to do their best work. If you’re a go-to person on your team, love helping others problem-solve, and believe leadership is about supporting people—not just being in charge—this could be your next opportunity. Your Role as a Veterinary Team Lead As a Veterinary Team Lead, you’ll be a trusted resource for our technical team and a key connection between the team and clinic leadership. You’ll help guide clinical decision-making, support teammates through challenging situations, and keep communication flowing. You’ll also play an important role in helping new team members, student externs, apprentices, and trainees feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success. This role is about leading by example—bringing confidence, professionalism, collaboration, and a little calm to even the most chaotic moments. WHAT YOU'LL DO Be a go-to resource for your technical teammates when clinical questions or challenges come up Help the team navigate problems through collaborative, solutions-focused thinking Communicate important team, clinical, or operational concerns with the Clinic Location Manager Help foster a positive, respectful, and supportive team environment Support conflict resolution with both team members and clients when situations get tough Help create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, speaking up, and learning Assist with training and supporting tech student externs and summer apprentices Help new trainees and their trainers navigate the learning and onboarding process Share knowledge, encourage growth, and help teammates build confidence in their skills Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and compassionate patient care Who Thrives Here WHAT YOU'LL NEED Currently working as a Level IV Veterinary Technician or Assistant Have been employed full-time with EVCC, averaging 36+ hours per week, for at least 1 year Strong organization and prioritization skills—you can keep things moving even when the shift gets busy Know how to delegate while still being willing to jump in and help when your team needs you Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with teammates, clients, and leadership Comfortable navigating challenging conversations and helping resolve conflict Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Enjoy helping others learn, grow, and succeed Bring a team-first mindset and understand that leadership is about supporting people, not having the loudest voice in the room What Makes a Great Team Lead at EVCC? You don’t need to have every answer. You do need to be someone your team can count on. You’re the person who stays calm when things get busy. You’re willing to listen before jumping to conclusions. You know when to step in, when to delegate, and when to ask for help. You celebrate your teammates. You give feedback with respect. You handle difficult situations without ego. And when someone on your team is having a rough shift, you’re the person who notices. Because at EVCC, leadership isn’t about a title. It’s about showing up for your people. How We Invest In You We believe people do their best work when they feel valued, supported, and given opportunities to grow. As a Team Lead, you’ll have opportunities to: Build and strengthen your leadership skills Mentor and support the next generation of veterinary professionals Work closely with clinic leadership Develop your communication, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills Help shape the culture and experience of your technical team Continue growing your clinical and professional skill set Make a meaningful impact on both patient care and the people delivering it If You’re Looking For… A leadership opportunity where: Your experience is respected Your voice matters Your team has your back You can help others grow Leadership doesn’t mean losing the ability to be part of the team Your work makes a difference every shift We’d love to meet you.
