Relief Veterinary Technician / Assistant (Emergency & Critical Care) Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) | Kalamazoo, MI Looking for a side quest that actually matters? Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is looking for a Relief Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our emergency team in Kalamazoo, MI. Whether you're picking up extra shifts or looking for flexibility without sacrificing great medicine, you'll be part of a team that genuinely has each other's backs. Our patients don't schedule emergencies—and neither do we. That's why we're looking for technicians who stay calm, think critically, and jump in when it counts. What You'll Do Every shift brings something new. As a Relief Veterinary Technician / Assistant, you'll: Assist veterinarians with emergency and critical care cases Perform patient triage and ongoing patient assessments Collect blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples Place and maintain IV catheters Administer medications and IV fluids accurately Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency procedures Perform venipuncture and laboratory testing Obtain diagnostic radiographs Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients Calculate medication dosages and fluid rates Accurately document treatments and patient care Educate and communicate with pet owners during stressful situations Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment Support CPR efforts and other emergency life-saving procedures Work collaboratively with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care What We're Looking For You might be a great fit if you: MUST HAVE experience as a Veterinary Technician / Assistant at least 1 year in the field - (emergency experience is a bonus!) - Stay cool under pressure and can adapt quickly Love learning and growing your skills Are a supportive teammate who enjoys collaboration Care deeply about patient care and client experience Are comfortable working day shifts, overnights, weekends, or holiday shifts as needed Are comfortable with anesthesia, drawing blood and working on unique cases Why EVCC?
