Pharmacy Technician  Maine Veterinary Medical Center  If you’re detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping patients receive the medications they need safely and accurately, Maine Veterinary Medical Center wants to meet you. We’re looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team and help keep our hospital pharmacy running smoothly.  In this role, you’ll work closely with our pharmacy team, veterinarians, hospital staff, and pet owners to fill and dispense medications, maintain accurate records and inventory, and provide helpful medication education. You’ll play an important part in supporting patient care across a busy emergency and specialty hospital while helping ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellent client service.  Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS Level II certified Rarebreed practice with full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound, and endoscopy. MVMC is a multi-specialty hospital offering services in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. Our collaborative team of experienced emergency clinicians and criticalists enables us to provide advanced, high-quality care to a knowledgeable and dedicated client base.  https://mvmc.vet/  Pharmacy Technician  Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME  $25.00 - $29.00/hour depending on experience and licensure WHAT YOU’LL DO  Fill and prepare patient medication orders, including tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids, while carefully verifying dosages and accuracy  Rotate, restock, and organize medications and pharmaceutical supplies  Monitor pharmacy inventory, including stock levels and expiration dates  Perform regular inventory audits, including pharmacy medications and controlled substances  Maintain accurate medical records and medication documentation  Follow hospital policies and procedures related to controlled substances and recordkeeping  Obtain veterinarian signatures for written prescriptions as needed  Communicate with pet owners regarding medications, pharmacy protocols, and general medication questions within the appropriate scope  Provide excellent customer service and assist with pharmacy-related client concerns  Coordinate medication refill documentation and owner communications  Maintain a clean, organized, and appropriately stocked pharmacy workspace  Assist with training and supporting new hires and hospital staff  Collaborate with pharmacy, reception, medical, and hospital teams to ensure client requests and patient medication needs are handled efficiently  Our Comprehensive Benefit Package Includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance  401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment  Generous paid time off  Continuing education yearly allowance for skills development  Uniform allowance  Certification fees reimbursement for eligible employees  Mental health resources  Company-paid bonding leave or applicable state-provided bonding leave  Perks for Your Pets Too!  Because we know how much your pets mean to you, we offer special benefits designed just for them: Pet Care: Discounts on veterinary services and products  Diagnostics: Savings on reference lab testing  Nutrition: Discounts on Purina pet foods  Insurance: Preferred rates with our pet insurance partner  REQUIREMENTS  At least 2 years of veterinary hospital and/or pharmacy experience  Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred, but not required Previous experience or education working in a veterinary facility  Training and client relations experience  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills  Comfortable using computers, Microsoft programs, and practice management software  Intermediate math skills and strong attention to detail  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities  Ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members at all levels  Dependable attendance  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds  Ability to work long or irregular hours as needed in a busy hospital environment  Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is a purpose-driven team that places talent first by supporting professionals to thrive in our industry and empowering hospital teams to provide exceptional care for pets and their owners.
