This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech looking to grow advanced anesthesia, surgery, and specialty medicine skills in a Level 1 Emergency & Critical Care specialty animal hospital.Join a collaborative team where you’ll work alongside board-certified specialists and experienced technicians while supporting advanced procedures, including surgery, MRI, CT, and complex specialty cases.Compensation $27–$39/hour, based on experience and skills Higher rates available for VTS technicians Full-Time Benefits Continuing Education & Uniform Allowance + Free VetBloom access (RACE-approved CE) CVT/LVT/RVT license reimbursement RECOVER Training for advanced CPR skills Veterinary Technician Education Sponsorships + VTNE reimbursement + VTS Support 16-Week VTNE Study Group Professional Development Assistance Starting 3 weeks vacation + Sick Time Working a holiday = DOUBLE PAY Employee Referral Bonuses + Employee Pet Discount Access to exclusive financial benefits to help you save on student loans, mortgages, and personal loans NVA Pet Resort Discount + Pet Insurance Discount Medical, Dental, Vision + HSA/FSA Options Insurance Options: Life and AD&D + Short & Long-Term Disability + Critical Illness + Accident + Hospital Indemnity 401(k) with employer match Employee Assistance Program Schedule Full-Time Three 12-hour shifts each week Wednesday and Thursday, plus alternating Friday and Saturday Holiday shifts are compensated at DOUBLE PAY Responsibilities Collaborate with board-certified specialists and VTS technicians to manage complex anesthesia cases Perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and nursing care alongside each surgeon Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates Execute, monitor, and recover assigned sedation and anesthetic events Assist in the operating room as both a circulating nurse and scrub-in technician during orthopedic and specialty procedures Monitor anesthetized patients using advanced anesthesia equipment and respond appropriately throughout every procedure Deliver exceptional nursing care while advocating for patient comfort and safety Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure outstanding patient outcomes Practice as a Veterinary Technician in a fast-paced specialty animal hospital while expanding your anesthesia, surgery, and critical care skills Support the highest standard of patient care expected from an experienced Veterinary Technician Qualifications Experienced Veterinary Technician, Vet Tech, CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred Anesthesia, surgery, specialty, emergency, or critical care experience preferred Strong patient monitoring, technical, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty veterinary environment Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About the Hospital Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital (Mass Vet) is a Level 1 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care and Specialty Veterinary Hospital—the highest designation awarded by the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS).
