Veterinary Criticalist

Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center is seeking an experienced Full Time Veterinary Criticalist to join our 24/7 emergency and referral hospital in Westford, MA. Position Highlights Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with mostly 8a-8p inpatient, but rare receiving or overnight shifts as needed to support the schedule No on-call duties Responsibilities include: Provide advanced medical management of critically ill and injured patients. Develop and oversee ICU services, workflows, and standards of care. Serve as a consultant and clinical leader for the ER and specialty teams. Establish evidence-based ICU protocols and quality assurance measures. Lead and support ICU staff training, mentorship, and team development. Guide equipment selection and implementation of advanced critical care technologies. Collaborate with hospital leadership on service growth, staffing, and strategic planning. Deliver compassionate, clear communication with clients during complex and high-acuity cases. This role combines hands-on critical care with program development and leadership in a collaborative, high-volume specialty environment.
